Valladolid city is the biggest metropolis in Castilla y Leon and is its Administrative Centre as well.
Its population is over 300,000 inhabitants. It´s split in two areas: The centre of town and the suburbs.
The suburbs it´s not a residential area as the one you can find in London, for instance, but a huge amount of buildings and housing estates that surround the old city.
On the outskirts, you can find residential areas with detached, semi-detached , terraced houses and cottages; so, if you want to spend a good time, you have all you need in the centre of town and you can get everywhere on foot.
The city had a fire in the 1650s which destroyed most of the ancient buildings, but a little number of them still remains.
